Hi, I’m Sheetal. I'm 46, mum of two teenagers and perimenopausal.
My symptoms were anxiety, brain fog, and tiredness and I just felt 'out of sorts'. Getting long Covid didn't help either.
I've lead a fairly healthy lifestyle, it is after all my passion. But the perimenopause and the general busyness of midlife - working, raising a family, and building a business - made me realise that I needed to prioritise my own self care and wellbeing even more.
And this is where the six pillars of health have really helped me manage my symptoms and feel more like myself again. That, and HRT!
Using the six pillars of health framework, I now:
• eat healthy, snack less and don't worry about my weight
• move/exercise regularly
• sleep like a baby
• meditate daily
• drink less alcohol
• nurture relationships with the people that matter to me
The effects have been life changing. I feel more energised, less stressed, more calm, have greater clarity of thought and am more productive.
The six pillars of health are an essential part of my life, and I couldn’t live it any other way.
I’ve talked to many of my peers about their menopause journey. Each wildly different and unique but most were confused or felt unsupported. Some felt so awful that it had a massive impact on their relationships and work life, and they struggled unnecessarily.
